Acta Cirúrgica Brasileira, founded by Prof. Saul Goldenberg in 1986, has been published monthly since 2012. It is the Official Journal of the Brazilian Society for the Development of Research in Surgery [Sociedade Brasileira para o Desenvolvimento da Pesquisa em Cirurgia-SOBRADPEC], a Federation of 24 branches in Brazil.

 

The journal has a Board of National Consultants and a Board of International Consultants.

 

It is the only continuously published journal in English language solely devoted to experimental surgery in Latin America. The Editorial Board considers only papers judged to offer significant contributions to surgical research. A Acta Cirúrgica Brasileira has joined a number of other leading medical journals that follows the "Uniform Requirements for Manuscripts Submitted to Biomedical Journals: Writing and Editing for Biomedical Publication" of the International Committee of Medical Journals Editors (www.icmje.org) updated in December 2014.Authors need to follow the specific instructions published by the journal.
